Last week I featured Hotel Missoni Edinburgh on the blog, and now it is Hotel Missoni Kuwaits turn. Hotel Missoni Kuwait is a fire of colour and glass at first sight. Gold, beige, teal, and purple glow from behind enormous patterned urns sitting in the huge front windows, beckoning passers by to press their faces up to the glass for a closer look.

Inside, 169 rooms and suites are spread over 18 floors, each filled with such an array of pattern and colour that guests will wonder if they've stumbled into the Missoni seamstress' design studio.

The Italian theme runs right through the dining options as well; Cucina acts as the beating heart of the hotel, serving authentic homecooked Italian favorites made with the freshest ingredients possible. Mmm... sounds delicious!

Hotel Missoni Edinburgh

Stepping inside Edinburgh's Hotel Missoni is like setting foot inside a jewellery box. Gem toned walls in brilliant violets and emeralds contrast boldly with patterned fabrics, while a glass enclosed staircase sweeps dramatically upstairs. Modern décor features prominently throughout, while the 136 guest rooms include must-have modern amenities such as iPod hookup, Nespresso machine, and gorgeous tiled bathroom complete with Missoni bathrobes...devine!

The boutique modernity of Hotel Missoni is tucked into the grand architecture of Edinburgh's Old Town. A five-minute walk west takes you to awe inspiring Edinburgh Castle, while a ten minute walk east lands you at Holyrood Palace. Or stroll across Waverly Bridge, past the iconic Scott Monument, for high street shopping on Princes Street.

This tastefully decorated hotel is definitely a feast for the eyes.  I just love all of the bright colours!

For Sale: Private Island in Florida

Many homes in the Florida Keys boast private beachfront and spectacular water views. Few, however, can lay claim to having a 360 degree beachfront, but this special private island home does.  Located 500 metres off the Atlantic shore of Marathon, Florida, this small and private oasis on East Sister Rock Island is surrounded by white sand and coral reef.

If you find the $12 million price tag a bit too much too swallow at once, the private isle is also available for rent: $5,000 a week...eek!
