Oyster Shell Candle Holder

How elegant is this Oyster Shell Candle Holder that I found over on the

The candle holder is worked from top down, holding five shells with interior surface upwards. You arrange the oysters into a cup, making sure a tea light will fit inside, then you glue the shells in place, using a hot glue gun. To attach more layers, turn cup upside down. Add shells as feet, if necessary, so the candle holder lays flat.  Simply stunning!

Surf & Sand Resort, Laguna Beach, California

Surf and Sand Resort, resembling a sun-washed Mediterranean Village, lies on California’s Laguna Beach shoreline where the waves of the Pacific meet 500 feet of pristine sand.

All 167 guest rooms and 16 suites at Surf & Sand command spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. Part of a recent $3 million renovation, guest rooms have been refreshed with a new California coastal design that’s both timeless and elegant. A palette of ocean colors can be seen in textiles and custom furnishings. Original artwork, luxurious linens and new modern lighting provide comprehensive contemporary comforts, while private furnished balconies extend the coastal experience further.

For decades the Surf & Sand pool has been a popular draw for couples and families alike. Completely refreshed in 2010, the pool deck has been transformed into a haven for complete escape. New modern cabanas, a wave-inspired structure, cozy chaise lounges and a poolside bar add a contemporary touch, while a scenic tile mural by a local artist further embraces the charm of Laguna Beach.
